I was rummaging through some old papers as I continue to sort through all the stuff we have accumulated. I ran across this sage advice, written by someone called "Anonymous". It's pretty good. Think about it. It is entitled "Rules for Being Human"
1. You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.
2. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time, informal school called "Life". Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately works.
4. A lesson is repeated until learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
6. "There" is no better than "Here".
When your "there" has become "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will, again, look better than "here".
7. Others are merely mirrors of you.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie inside.
The answers to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.
10. You will forget all of this.
I find bullet number ten to be hilarious. I'm so glad you found and shared this with us. It is all humorous but very true. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDelete4,7,8,9 all resonate with me. All truth. thanks for sharing Clint. Hope things are moving along smoothly now.
ReplyDeleteoh this is greatness. truly if we could remember these things (instead of #10) life would be less stressful and we'd take ourselves less seriously. :)
ReplyDeleteVery true and very funny.
ReplyDeleteIf all the people would manage them so that there are only little problems in the world.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Sabine
Sound words Clint, and yes number 10 is also very true,
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day and thanks for your comment.
Yvonne.
Great post, Clint.....thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhen things go wrong, as I percieve them to be, I remind myself that "this day, this hour, this moment, will pass" and I need to make the most of the very next one. I read a quote (forget the author) that said, "all life is an illusion but I am living this illusion so it must be." So when things are going awry, close your eyes and turn your head........now open them and you will see things differently in that moment, I guarantee.
i like this.
ReplyDeleteThose are all great and should be followed. However, I think I have #10 memorized.
