Yesterday was trying. I worked out in the early morning at my workout facility that I just joined (I'm sore!). Then, the Cinderoo and I hit the road, looking for furniture. This went on until we got back home around 5ish. We were tired and hungry. Cindy decided on a different kind of din-din.
We had the best meal ever!----fried okra, stewed okra, butter beans, sliced tomatoes, sliced Vidalia onions and homemade cornbread---all washed down with iced tea. Oh yeah, babe. It don't git no better'n this....
Looks delicious, Clint. Now about those sore muscles.........I hope you weren't trying to show off! :)
ReplyDeletemmm that's my kind of meal!
ReplyDeletesouthern style everything!
ReplyDeleteVery delicious, yummi, yummi!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Sabine
How fun! I aint from around there so I have no idea what you described- except the cornbread :) But I believe ya! Must be delicious. I love it when I get creative in the kitchen. Last night we had bananas and tortellini in tomato sauce for dinner. It was really good!
ReplyDeleteOkra...eww! Not my favorite dish. Everything else sounds yummy, though! Hope the tea was sweet!
ReplyDeleteWe were members over at Fort Sanders for the longest time. GREAT facility!!! I never "worked out" though, I just like the sauna and jacuzzi. I know, pretty sad!
I'm not a big fan of okra but the cornbread and tea sounds good :-)
ReplyDeleteI grew okra one year, but if your not a southerner, it is a little hard to take. And you had it TWICE in one meal. You guys are real tough.
ReplyDeleteThat looks sooooo good. But, like Ron, I'm not a big fan of okra either. God bless, Lloyd
ReplyDeleteThat looks AMAZING! Do you have room for a few more???
ReplyDeleteI have tried to post a comment 6 times today on your blog and have failed every time!
ReplyDeleteI will be surprised if this appears in your comments.
Now it looks like it is gonnna appear on your blog, who knows. I am happy you liked this "unbalanced" meal, with both stewed okra and fried okra. The only thing missing was pickled okra!
I don't mind fried okra eaten with flat Indian bread and a bit tamarind chutney.I eat it at a favourite eating place in Fiji whenever I go for a visit.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! My kind of meal. Love it!
ReplyDeletehmmmm yammi, looks delicious. I think I have to go in the kitchen to prepare my breakfast *giggle*
ReplyDeleteGreetings to you
Yuuummmmm! That meal should compliment your workouts :) I haven't had okra since leaving Arkansas. Good stuff!
