Today's post is short. I have been thinking of friends lately. It has occurred to me that friends are hard to come by. Friends are much more than acquaintances. Friends are there for us when we need them. True friends are kind enough to overlook our shortcomings. And, for me, friends make me feel the humility that God wants in all of us.
I bring this up because last night our neighbor friends from across the street, Wayne and Suzan, hosted a party for Cindy and me. We will be moving about 900 miles away, and they were so very kind to think to honor us. We had a very special time.
But on this blog, I just want to say how special friends are in our lives. It is humbling to think someone cares enough about us to give so freely of themselves. Thank you, Suzan and Wayne!
Pictures of our most special evening will be posted as soon as Cindy is able to upload them.

ReplyDeleteIt must be a wrench to leave good friends but you're about to open a new chapter in your lives where their will be new people but old friends if they are true friends never lose touch.

It is a wonderful things to have good things in our lives.

What a pleasant post! And yes, I agree that friendships are some of life's greatest treasures. Praise God that you have been blessed with such great friends! Good luck on your move!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine and understand how much your friends and neighbours will miss you.
ReplyDeleteYes, friends do make our lives extra special, they affirm us and make us feel valued and appreciated. I read this post and the two others before it...
ReplyDeleteNine words women use - this is what you call "Womanese" - happy is the husband who has learned to speak her language. Women are not that complicated really, just learn the relational language they use, and make them feel you understand them (even if you don't - ha, ha!).
I do understand the rising temperatures connected with the big move. It is part of it all - you are right, death of spouse, loss of job, and then moving house. These are the top three on the stress list. You do have an understanding heart. I was so glad to visit Red letter believers blog, and have added it to my favorites. Such an inspiring blog!
Have a great passover week, you and Cindy... praying for you.
