Pistol Packin' Momma.......

I'm very proud of Cindy---she has taken the first step in providing for her personal safety.

Knoxville's Coal Creek Armory Features a Modern Indoor Firing Range and Expert Instruction
Yesterday she completed a four hour class on basic handgun safety at Knoxville's Coal Creek Armory.  I arranged for her to have individual, one-on-one teaching with Rick, a licensed and experienced instructor.
Qualified With All Six Rounds on the Target With Three Bulls Eyes
She passed the course with flying colors.  She said she learned a lot and enjoyed it very much.

Next step---taking the course to obtain a license to carry.

  2. Thank you for the encouragement to do this and for all the other encouragement to ventue in to my uncomfortable zone which have included public speaking, road trips in blizzards, the NY NY roller coaster in Vegas, heading a women's event, working out and the list goes on and on ...

Yesterday was remarkable that I was even able to do it since I have always said I have been afraid of gun. This education has helped demystify the fear.

  3. I hope Cindy never has to use the skill. Is the plan for her to carry a handgun or just to have one in the house? Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

  6. Over here impossible, only police officer ans security are allowed to have a gun.

...and sorry, I hate guns...because a good friend of mine killed himself with a gun. A fast death for him, but for me horrible to see (laying in bed)

    Greetings

  7. Congratulations Cindy, I am skilled with the firearm myself and it's a good feeling to know you can defend yourself and your home. Only thing is I'll never kill anyone because my bullets drop to the groin.....oh well, at least they'll never reproduce! You should see me in my Annie Oakley cowgirl suit at age 5 standing beside my headless Tonto action figure, what a sight. I guess guns have been in my blood right from the start.

Note for Carol B: How very interesting! I don't have any women friends that are skilled in this field. I would love to see your in your Annie Oakley cowgirl suit ... maybe a future blog post picture for you. HINT HINT Thank you, Carol

  12. Congratulations to brave Cindy!!
I like the idea of self-defense. It's important!
I personally know Martial Arts, the use of weapons such as katana, daggers, nunchaku, sticks, and so on.
I also took a brief course how to use shot guns and rifles. I would love to take up more courses about that, and become an expert in handling guns for safety and protection.
I love it!! It's good for you, Cindy.
Imagine an almost 200 pounds lady trying to use her Martial Arts skills to defend herself at home with a katana or nunchaku too??...
I learned how to defend myself in New York long ago, after many physical and psychological attacks on me by the father of my daughter...
Some evil doers even tried to kill me for no reason at all...I got so scared! Trauma stays...
Thank you so much, Clint for posting awesome topics of interest!!
Thank you also for visiting my journals blog and writing your kind comments, Clint!!
    God may bless you all!!
Merry Christmas to all of you!!
    All the best,
    Poet Starry Dawn.
