Now before I launch into today's topic, let me say in all honesty that I have nothing personal against George W. Bush. It seems he did the best he could while he was prez, and everyone says he's a nice guy.
He Got His Wife To Sign It For Him |
But when I received a mailer from him yesterday asking me (ME???) for money for his new Presidential Museum and Library in Dallas, Texas, I could only shake my head in disbelief.
What chutzpah. What kahunas (as we used to say in Texas). Or, as the Cowardly Lion exclaimed in "The Wizard of Oz", "Oh, the noive!!!"
I mean, like all politicians (especially after they have been in office a short while), he is quite wealthy. Of course, he comes from a family of wealth.
But he has no problemo asking yours truly for coin. In fact, in his letter, he asks for a donation of at least $25. Gee, I don't
think so, Mr President....
ha! the noive!
ReplyDeleteGood friend Clint, can't you spare a dime? You might not have a dime left after paying for ...
ReplyDeletegas
food
electric bill
prescriptions
health insurance premiums
property taxes
cable
home and auto insurance
medical bills including dental
lawn care
car maintenance
house maintenance
internet service
phones
refrigerator filter
computer related expenses
etc. ..........................
Especially with this economy! I have a lot I can do with that $25. sandie
ReplyDeletePerhaps we should all send him a letter requesting a donation of $25 to help support the citizens of the US pay our taxes that pay his very large pension and life long security plus the salaries of 1000's of worthless government jobs.
ReplyDeleteYikes! A library? Oy! And all the other explicatives. : )
ReplyDeleteJust had some fun catching up on your blog. I especially liked the last post on the holidays. Here is our Christmas Day tradition. Everyone gets to do exactly what they want to. We open presents in the morning. Then there is no agenda. I get Chinese take out in the afternoon, and everyone can eat when they want to. We just relax and enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteOh well...he is still dreaming, isn't he. He has enough money to do it by himself...*shakingmyhead*
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and I can understand your: I don't think so!!!
Greetings
Wouldn't you just love to receive an envelope containing a check for $25.00 from any politician as a donation to the Help Amerians Live Better fund (yours, mine and everyone's; yes, I just created that fund as I speak). I'll go cash my $25.00 check immediately and put some gas in my car so I can go to work and help the sick and dying. Oh, I forgot, it wouldn't be a tax deductible contribution now would it????????

Oh.
ReplyDeleteDo not get me started.
Sounds like your politicians are the same as ours in Canada.....
Goodness,
ReplyDeleteBit of cheek in asking for money..but I know that sort of thing is done in my country too in some areas.
The noive..I dislike politicians more than I can say.
ReplyDeleteoh politicians... don't tell me anythings... what can I say with our poiliticians in Italy??? Berlusconi & co. .... brrrrrrrrrrr such a shame for me...
ReplyDeleteShame they put a minimum dollar amount on the request. Hasn't he heard about the recession yet??

I think Mr. Bush is a bit cheeky sending out that letter. Thumbs down Mr. Bush.

Have a pleasant day. God bless.
With love and care from Kerrie. xOx
Do you mean to say you have MORE money than George Bush?
