Five Favorite Movie Scenes

If I thought about it for any length of time, I bet I could list a hundred favorite movie scenes---you know, the kind of scenes with exceptionally powerful acting performed with great style.

But, for the sake of brevity, here are five scenes that come to mind immediately.  What are some of your favorites?

From "Scent Of A Woman" Starring Al Pacino:

  1. I LOVED Scent of a Woman! Great scene! And LOL at Harry Met Sally! The Wizard of Oz scene is deep, isnt' it? I haven't seen the other movies.

    My favorite scenes are:

Amadeus, when Salieri is taking dictation from Mozart, near the end. Brilliant!

It's a Wonderful Life: Praying in the bar scene

Shawshank Redemption: Get busy living or get busy dying scene (one of my all time favorite movies!)

I could probably think of tons more, but that's off the top of my head. Don't have links, though...must do this for a post one day!

    Oh, another one:

Color Purple: You told Harpo to beat me scene

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. All time favorite," One flew over the cuckcoo's nest" when Jack Nicholson tries to move the sink and the others laugh at him. Then he says "At least I tried".

Jane---"One Flew Over..." was a work of genius.

Kelli---I was playing the link you sent for "Beetlejuice". Cindy came into the room and was watching it with me and I never heard her laugh so loud. Thank you for making our morning!

  7. Hi Clint. My favourite scene in Shawshank Redemption is the one called Time for Mozart where Andy Dufresne played a Mozart record over the prison sound system and turned it up. I love the indomitable spirit of the man!
In Passion of the Christ, I love the scene where Jesus saves the woman caught in adultery. As the camera zeros in on her desperate face as she is there in the dust clutching Jesus' feet, almost unbelieving that a man would intervene on her behalf, I am deeply moved by the mercy of God. Only God.....

  8. Oh, Vilisi, that is an awesome scene in Shawshank!!! Every scene in that movie is awesome. I love the look on the warden's face and on Red's face when they discover Andy's "secret". It's been awhile since I've seen Passion and I vaguely recall that scene. But my favorite scene from that movie is the playful banter between Jesus and his mother over the table that was too tall.

  12. Vilisi and Kimberly---It's pretty difficult to get very far from God. Probably because Truth is King.
